Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep…

The other morning, my daughter and I went for breakfast at the Mei Le Cafe somewhere in my neighbourhood. It seemed that the stall where I usually had the tom yam mihun had something new – the mouse/rat-tail noodles…

…but they did it differently from the kampua-style version that I had recently. For this one, the noodles were tossed in some sauce and garnished with sliced home-made fish cake, minced meat, fried ikan bilis (anchovies) and chopped Chinese celery…

It was VERY nice and I certainly would go back there again for more. My daughter had the meat porridgeΒ with century egg…

The one here isn’t too bad but personally, I prefer the meat porridge special with slices of liver and pig’s intestines at that coffee shop in Sungai Merah.

While we were enjoying ourselves, I noticed something interesting. They actually had a Chippendales’ mug…

For the uninitiated who do not know what or who the Chippendales are, you can click the link below and watch the video but do make sure that you are over 18 years of age…

Thankfully, the photo on the mug did not show a sexy hunk doing the full monty…

Now, now…do I hear some sighs of disappointment? ROTFLMAO!!!

  4. Good morning STP.. u were in KL?
I would love to eat this rat noodles for breakfast…looooks ravishing! ok, going out now…

I’m still in KL. My daughter’s attending her “pre-departure briefing” in Putrajaya whole day today. We’re flying back to Sibu tomorrow…

    1. Beware of STP in Putrajaya…. he’s going on food rampage!!! *golek golek* LMAO

Not going there!Arranged for cab to take her there and later in the evening, bring her back to the hotel. Don’t think there’s anything sexciting…opps, I mean exciting in Putrajaya… πŸ˜€

  5. Why do they want to “destroy” the mug with that face? πŸ˜₯ Now i’m big time disappointed..

Ya? You think they should choose a better looking guy…or they should put a more revealing pic? LOL!!!

    1. At least a better looking guy.. don’t mind if it’s not revealing if the shop is family friendly.. πŸ˜›

Bet the coffee shop people do not know Chippendales…and who the heck that guy is. To them, it’s just…a mug! Probably came free with two bottles of Sunlight dishwashing fluid or something…

    1. *pats ken’s head* dun worry… jie jie here oso not turn on wif that pic. That feller not hot enuff, rite?

Hahahahaha!!!! What about the ones on the video promo? Wink! Wink! LOL!!!

  6. The ngiao choo hoon looks nice…Should go and try when I go back, if they are open and the price isn’t cut throat lar (CNY mah)

And the place is just round the corner from your house…

    1. Ya I know, the shop where people fight for the sio duck or chicken on eve of CNY wan. Mei Le is our regular breakfast kopitiam too πŸ˜€

That’s the brother of the guy opposite Public Bank…but this one’s very friendly and pleasant…not like that moody and grumpy brother of his! LOL!!!

  7. i know why they put that “potong steam” man picture on the mug, if they put the macho hunk picture on the mug, do you think you still can see the mug? It will already stolen by someone lo. hahahahhahahhahahha

LOL!!! You certainly have a point there! Hahahahahaha!!!!

  8. Heh! Mei Le is in my neighbourhood too. πŸ˜‰

Been there a couple of times, usually to sit just and chillax during work hours.

Oh, I probably shouldn’t have said that.

Ya…our neighbourhood! The brother of the guy at the stall opposite Public Bank runs a brisk business there selling char siew, roast pork etc. Some say the kampua is good but it didn’t turn me on…and the other stall at that shop sells very nice tom yum mihun and now, this rat-tail noodles. Her laksa and porridge are good but there are better ones elsewhere. Gee!!! Wasn’t it very far from your office at the time? I guess that would ensure that you would not get spotted. Tsk! Tsk! πŸ˜‰

  9. Where’s STP gone? far far away!LOL!…Middle of the road, I love this band, Sacramento is another one that I like! All your fault, I am going to hunt for the cd lying somewhere in my hse soon….

LOL!!! You mean there’s actually a cd of their songs? Good grief! Wah! You memang caught in that time zone hor! Hahahahahaha!!!!

  10. lol, i laughed so hard when i saw the mug…the pic is like taken form the 80s haha πŸ˜€

^.^ You certainly seem familiar with Chippendales’ pin-ups? This one’s from the 80s. eh? Hahahahaha!!!

  11. since i’m not yet 18, i cant watch the video! lol… aiyo… wait lah… a few seconds more i’ll be 18! πŸ˜›

You’re THAT young? At what age did you get married? 16? And a kid by 17? Wow! Amazing! LOL!!!

  12. No century egg. No…yucks! :p But the rat-tail noodles seems just nice. πŸ˜€

What do you mean no century egg? What are those in the photo? Or do you mean that you do not like century eggs? Eeee….I love them! A MUST if you’re having Teochew porridge! Yum! Yum!

  13. Hi hi STP.. YES I love porridge!
And, just wanted to let you know, I DO reply to comments on my blog. 😦 Only I do it a few days late….. :(((

    Ok…will check!

  14. So yes, you WILL get replies if you ask my questions in my comment box ya… πŸ™‚

    hugs,
    shakira

There you are, Clef! it’s going to be a bestseller! Hahahahahaha! My daughter was in Sg Petani for 2 and half years…so it would not be so bad. This time, she will not be coming home 3-4 times a year, of course – just once!

    1. I bet Cikgu was like me oso when he starts cooking… just he malu wanna admit! LMAO…

Ok lah…there have been a few disasters along the way…and not so confident at the beginning…but it gradually gets better and better! Hey! I’m talking about my cooking! What do you think I’m talking about? Chesh!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!

  16. how come got ikan bilis wan…very weird…lol

nice meeting u…next time sure gather more time rather than so rush like yesterday πŸ˜‰

Just like that what-do-they-call-it-now – pan mee or something? I was not used to the ikan bilis also…but in this one, with the minced meat and dark sauce, I thought it was really nice. Ya…so glad could get to meet you to – watch out for the post…tomorrow, I think.

  17. If i have that mug, I don’t think I ever want to drink anything! Too disgusting! Lol…

Hahahahaha!!!Not even with a pic of one real sexy hunk – X-posed? Hahahahahahaha!!!!
