Lost…

I am a simple person and I live a simple life. I cook and eat simple food and I do not USUALLY go to expensive places to dine. I drive a 15-year old Wira…and I buy anything that’s cheap.

I used to buy my watches from those Nigerians or Africans who used to walk around town and after they had rounded them up, I would buy from street vendors and roadside stalls. Each would cost around RM10-15 and would last for a year or even longer.

Once, I was using a CK…and I was telling my students how poor I was. They insisted I was lying and that I was rich. When I asked them what prompted them to say so, they said that I was wearing a CK watch. Gee! I did not even know they noticed…and they would not believe me when I told them that I had bought it for only RM10 at the Tamu along Gaya Street on a Sunday when I was in KK!

But the last watch I had was not one of those. I got it free from Readers’ Digest but it had lost its shine and the strap was about to give way and when I was in Sungai Petani, after I had got back to the hotel after making my way through the heavy rain, I realised that it was lost!

I would still be able to tell the time by looking at my handphone but I just could not get used to not wearing a watch. Thus, I decided to buy one – at an outlet in the TESCO premises near the hotel where I was staying.

It was priced at RM350 but I was given a 20% discount and a RM10.00 cash rebate…so I paid RM270 for it. Gee! That was one of the most expensive things I had bought for a long time. Ah well! I guess it can be regarded as my birthday gift to myself…in advance! LOL!!!

And talking about “Lost”, this is one of my favourite songs. I bet most of the ladies would love it as it is by that suave and dashing Michael Buble…
