Sweet like chocolate…

Some of you may recall the chocolates that 3iling gave me sometime ago when I met her in KL…

…and how I was saving them for my daughter. Well, when she came home for the Raya break last month, I took them out of the fridge and discovered that one of the boxes had been opened…

“Someone has been eating my chocolates!!!” LOL!!! Now, did I sound like Papa Bear in that Goldilocks’ story? LOL!!!

But anyway, we sampled what was left in that particular box. It was hard, having been just taken out of the fridge. The chocolate was nice – not too sweet like some available in the market while the filling was somewhat mild as far as the durian taste was concerned.

I guess it is like cooking curry – if you cook it too hot, those who are not able to handle it would grumble but on the other hand, if it is not hot at all, then those who love hot stuff would not enjoy it. So in this case, the durian taste would not be strong enough for true durian lovers and those who do not like durian would not like it because of the presence of the durian flavour, no matter how mild it is.

Perhaps I should have let it sit there for a while in room temperature till it had softened…

I’ve yet to do that as everytime I open one up, I would just pop it into my mouth right away and let it melt inside. On the whole, my daughter who’s not a fan of durians, did not really care much for it…while on my part, I’m not a fan of chocolate but I don’t mind popping one in my mouth once in a while – to me, it is sweet like chocolate…

Thanks a lot, 3iling! It certainly was very sweet and thoughtful of you…
