The heat is on…

It was my turn to do the commentating in church last Sunday, so I had to dress up nicely – long sleeves, tie and all. You can imagine how hot I was feeling…and the horrendous weather that we have been experiencing these days certainly did not help very much.

Believe you me, I did not have a decent long-sleeved shirt at all…other than a few batik shirts for formal functions, one Indian outfit and a traditional Chinese top. I had to go and get one tailor-made…and based on the material I chose, the tailor said that it would cost me RM80. After he had taken my measurements, he changed his mind and said that I would need to pay RM100 instead! Grrr!!! Tsk! Tsk!…Never mind, let’s just consider that as an investment, if you know what I mean! LOL!!!

Anyway, to get back to last Sunday morning, after the service, we went back to the Garden Hotel cafe for brunch. The place is air-conditioned, so I would not be dripping in my perspiration and my new white shirt would not end up soaking wet and quite see-through as a result. I had the “executive breakfast” (RM8.00)…

…while my daughter had the roesti with bacon (RM10.00)…

…which tasted something like the mashed potatoes with bacon that I cooked the other day – except that mine was baked. My missus was not into these western breakfast stuff, so she had the beef noodles…

My daughter tasted a bit of that and said that it was nicer than what she had at Red Carrot the previous week.

Gosh! She’s been home for over a week now and only has two more weeks here before she goes back to Sungai Petani for the second semester for the year. How time flies when you’re having fun! Sigh!
