I don’t like Mondays…

I don’t like Mondays…”

I suppose that is what many of you are saying this morning as you have to get up early to go to the office or to class. Well, I do not have to go to work in the morning anymore and normally, my tuition classes are in the late afternoon from 4 to 6.00 p.m. I am taking this month (March) off, therefore, I am quite free most of the time until April comes around, but that, of course, means that I will not be getting any extra spending money – not until the end of April. So, do pass the hat around… LOL!!!

Whatever it is, I still like weekends because my missus is not working and she will do the cooking. Over the weekend, for instance, she cooked some freshwater prawns in fermented durian (udang galah dengan tempoyak)…

Unlike mine, her version was rather soupy and tasted like rebus durian mantak (unripe durian cooked kampung-style). It was nice, but I think mine was nicer. Hehehehehehe!!!

Other than that, she also cooked some thinly-sliced chicken meat in soy sauce and ginger, plus Foochow red wine…

…and fried some broccoli with mushrooms and prawns…

The best part, of course, was the fact that I did not have to do anything, just ate when the time came. Hehehehehe!!!

And over the weekend, I also had a feast of ikan salai (smoked fish)…

I just popped them into the oven and grilled until they were nice and warm and I had them with the really nice sambal cili (homemade chilli dip) that came with the ikan bakar I had the other day. Yum! Yum!

So how was your weekend? Well, whatever it was like for you, have a great week ahead! Cheer up, ‘cos there’s another long weekend coming up!
