Have a nice day (1)…

It’s Faisaladmar‘s 2*th birthday today, so from Ajil aka Fazil and me, a very Happy Birthday to you, Faisal, many happy returns and may the coming year be filled with happiness and all good things that you wish for.

Well, actually it was Ajil who told me about it. He was in town over the weekend to shop for groceries and stock up on supplies and as it seemed,  he was sporting a new look – unshaven…and no wise cracks from you, Faisal! Hahahahahaha!!!

Ajil - unshaven

We went to this cafe that I had blogged about before for lunch. I had the kolo mee special and got this…

Rafie's Cafe kolo mee

…and this bowl of sup tulang (bone soup)…

Rafie's Cafe sup tulang

The kolo mee was no kolo mee, that’s for sure! It was something like kampua mee with soy sauce…and the taugeh (bean sprouts) and shredded chicken added certainly had very little effect as far as enhancing the taste was concerned. The soup was all right though somewhat diluted and came nowhere near the ngui chap I had in KK.

I ordered a glass of Nescafe tarek and it came out with the froth overflowing…

Rafie's Cafe Nescafe tarek

If only they had added a bit more coffee…as it was kinda weak – no kick at all and hardly comparable to Ruby Restaurant’s blended kopi-o-peng (iced black coffee).

Ajil has this plate of nasi goreng Pattaya (Pattaya fried rice)… Rafie's Cafe nasi goreng pattaya

He did not say anything, so I guess it was not that great!

In the evening, he wanted to go to visit Colonel Sanders. Goodness gracious! There are actually people who love the stuff at these fast food outlets. I cannot even remember the last time I ate at the colonel’s or his counterpart, Ronald’s…but since he had a craving for it, we went to the outlet at Delta Mall near my house.

Both of us had this Zinger burger…

KFC's Zinger

…which was pretty nice and I quite enjoyed it, and a piece of chicken – hot and spicy…

KFC's hot and spicy...

The two items plus a drink were going for around RM10 plus – one of those value meals. Well, what does everybody think? Expensive or not?

After the meal, we went browsing around the shops at the mall, including the Popular Bookstore branch there. Ajil bought a few things…

Ajil - shopping

…but sorry, Faisal, he did not buy you anything for your birthday. ROTFLMAO!!!

It’s the Lantern Festival (Yuanxiao Jie) today, so Happy Chap Goh Mei, everybody and have a nice day

  1. I load your website 10 minutes ago and was surprised to see no new post. I refreshed and *tada* updated liao.

Why? Vacancy closed? Situation no longer vacant? Hahahahahaha!!!!

  3. Happy Chap Goh Meh to you and family. *sob* *sob* I still have to work on this day.

Aiyor…so kesian! I hear most schools here in Sibu are taking “cuti peristiwa”, so holiday today!!! Hehehehehehe!!!!

  4. Er.. pardon my ignorance, what does ROTFLMAO stand for? Have meant to ask for a long time – and just got to ask today 🙂

Don’t worry…you’re not the only one. I had to ask Alex Jienster too…but not online – pretend to be clever mah!!! Hahahahahaha! It stands for “Roll On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off”!!! And LOL = laugh out loud! Kpenyu thought it meant “Lots of Love” – he so old, still so romantic one!

  5. Thanks. I hope your blog-followers will not ROTFLMAO. See, I learn first, old though!

It’s never too old to be romantic. We’d better learn to be romantic starting today. You know what? Next year, the first day of CNY falls on 14th Feb!

Never too old to learn!…But as for being an old romantic, the Chinese will call that “lau hiao”!!! Hahahaha!!!

14th February??? So late??? I’m sure uni in NZ has started already by then!!! Looks like another CNY without my daughter around. Thanks for the info…;maybe I’ll book my ticket and spend the week with her there…with peace and quiet all around!!! LOL!!!

  6. Happy Chap GOh Mei to you… most important question will be…. Will your daughter be throwing oranges today…. 😉

Anyway.. made poppia yesterday… but KNB was under the weather and can only manage to wallop 3 this time round.. haha nobody can beat your record….

KNB under the weather…or is it just plain…OLD AGE??? Hahahahahaha!!!! My daughter ah? Don’t worry…when the time comes, the father will be by her side, throwing boxes and boxes of oranges to make sure somebody will catch one! Oops…does that mean that they will have to marry me instead? ROTFLMAO!!!!!

  7. Bloggers’ article didn’t appear today. Yan said too many articles -15 Meh & V-day. But never mind, next week sure got wan! 😀

Eyew…!!! Not looking forward to it!! You know me lah…so shy-shy one!!! Hahahahahaha!!!

  8. Happy Chap Goh Meh! Don’t throw the orange…I will eat it. So sayang bah…

Aiyor…if I throw the orange and you catch eat and eat it, does that mean you will have to marry me? Hahahahaha!!!

  9. Well.. marrying her will be akin to marrying you and ah so also… the whole family is the package deal… no? HAHAHAHAHA

yEAH.. KNB is under the weather.. runny nose… he was supposed to have been at the house earlier.. but he took anti-histamine and went to sleep instead and only came over after he woke up…. and had dinner in his own house first… lol

I guess so…in the JFV/Melanau tradition of “kawin masuk”!!! Hehehehehehe!!! Anyway, still long way to go. We never know…

Ooo…been streaking around naked, has he? Caught the chill? I guess he’s on sick leave – typical of people working in those establishments. Any ol’ excuse to ponteng kerja… Right, KNB? LOL!!!

  10. no eppie chap goh meh…test this week 😦

Never mind! Studies more important! Later on when you’re working, also no holiday!! Hehehehehehe!!!!

  11. Hey STP!With still a couple of eligible bachelor/bachelorette cousins, u better go buy some boxes of oranges n help throw on behalf of them. Your daughter, still young, plenty of time to wait. Maybe u can throw one to Ajil too!Hahahahaha!!1 for KNB.,1 The other cousin n…….Happy Chap Go Mei!Wat u cookin?

The two ah…I give up already lah! Throw lots of boxes also no use! Hahahahaha!!! As for Ajil, I’m sure he’s got many waiting in Penang… Dunno, never ask. I not kaypo – poking my nose into others’ business! Hehehehehe!!!!

  12. It’s been ages since I go KFC. I don’t like to eat fast food and their fried chickens so tiny! Some more, not cheap also! Plus not healthy. What’s the point eating there, right? : )

Ya…for RM10, if we go for local stuff like noodles – enough for two persons inclusive of drinks!!! Really wasteful….and not that great in taste either! But these places often very crowded!!! Kids and young people especially love to eat there!

  13. Stella, the ladies throw, guys catch… With STP throwing on our behalf… now you know why we are still single HAHAHAHA (thank God he gave up hahaha)

I am opening a nasty can of worms for KNB to say something… But hey, he’s down and out and need to be amused :-p

Ohhhh…so put the blame on me, eh? Now that some people are left on the shelves! Hahahahahahaha!!!! I guess KNB’s on sick leave. Hopefully, we’ll hear from him tomorrow…..

  14. Happy Birthday to Faisaladmar from me too.

Invented not so romantic ones already. BTH+ bay ta han. CKPTT+ chio kau pa tor thia. HAPPY CHAP GOH MEI to you and one more night of firecrackers and it’s all over man.

Thanks, on behalf of Faisal. Please…no more acronyms lest we end up unintelligible! Makes no sense at all! But come to think of it, I know some people who are like that sometimes, even without acronyms! Hahahahahahaha!!!!

…..Aiyor!!! Good weather here and it’s almost 9 p.m. and the firecrackers and fireworkers have not stopped!!! I’m going hysterical!!!! But I must refrain from wishing for rain (so they can’t play)…no matter what!! Hahahahahaha!!!!!

  15. By the way, Happy Chap Goh Meh to you and Mrs! Should eat glutinous rice balls instead of throwing tangerines into the river. But I think it’s an advantage in Sibu coz if it’s still flooded, just dump it in the water, who knows the tangerines will end up at someone’s doorstep ler. LOL!

Why gultinous rice? Haven’t heard of that!…No more flood lah…or at least not that I know of. At most, maybe some low lying areas with clogged drains, so the water’s stagnant!

  16. 2* birthday? lols.. Chap Goh Meh’s english is Lantern Festival? Wow, i learned a new word today!

Keeping it secret mah! For one thing, I can assure you he’s not 21 years old! Hahahahahaha!!!!…I looked that up in the Sarawak Almanac lah – especially the Chinese name in pinyin spelling!

  17. Happy Chap Goh Meh o! War…why tiba-tiba got Bollywood star? 🙂

Hope yours was good too. That’s my friend from Penang – working in the interior here in Sarawak. Got to know him from blogger Faisaladmar. So everytime he comes to Sibu, he’ll stay at my house. Everybody’s welcome to put up at my simple house – no five-star facilities or services though!

  18. Back in the old days, Lantern Festival (Yuan Xiao Jie) was celebrated with lanterns (lots of them) and eating glutinous rice balls. The so-called tradition of dumping of tangerines into the river/sea was apparently started in Penang. That’s what I found in Wikipedia. Not too sure though. But I don’t read anything about throwing oranges into the river/sea from the history of China though.

Dunno. Saw them making and eating those glutinous balls on ASTRO – China channel. Makes no difference to me now – no need to throw or catch oranges anymore! LOL!!

  19. hahahahahah danke schon pal!!! 🙂
    thanks… for the wish…

btw, he is very fussy about food lah.
do you know he doesn’t eat fish?
a lot of other thing as well… including beef!

tell him KFC kena boikot lah! lol…

He doesn’t eat fish?…I know he does not eat beef only. Aiyor…not much left that he can eat. And he eats SO little…or is it because he kesi kesi malu??? LOL!!!

  20. heheheeh thanks to all who wish too! 🙂

p/s: STP… ajil wants me to go sibu in april… why leh?

April? Dunno….I know Prophet Mohd’s birthday in early March, there’s a long weekend? Planning to come?

  21. Wah… u guys must miss me hor. Even when I’m not commenting, my name keeps getting mentioned. Sick leave yesterday due to excessive liquid dispensation, and before you start accusing govt servants again, I hardly ever take sick leave ok? I think only 3 days max in 2008 and one day was because i couldn’t even walk after tearing a muscle… NOT that Muscle! hahah.

Of course not that one! Brand new!!! Hahahahahaha!!!! OK, glad you’re better and back to stir up a storm!!! LOL!!

  22. excessive liquid dispensation??? hmmmm… Interesting KNB.. very very interesting.. dispensed from where?

    I don’t wanna know… LOL!!!

  23. From my nose of course, unlike yours. Btw, got cheap sale for adult diapers…. want me to get you some?

Haiya…used such difficult terminology, for a while I thought you ceret-beret and was about to blame it on The Other Cousin’s popiah!!! Hahahahahaha!!! Ooo…is there a war brewing? Tak nak campur!!! LOL!!!

  24. KNB: its okay. Am recovered now that all things are back to before November 07 situation 😉 Its a huge burden off my shoulder not to mention no more pain in the butt HAHAHAHAHA

Pain where? Ummmm…what have you been up to? Errr…never mind! Just forget that I asked! Hahahahahahaha!!!!

  25. No war lar… people go to war because there is something to gain out of it. Here, nothing to gain bah…peace!

Hahahahaha!!! Make love, not war! Eyew….!!! ROTFLMAO!!!

  26. Eyewww! Am not into incestous relationship…

Anyway, KNB and I have this deal to make life more interesting and have a good laugh 😉 and besides, there’s nothing to gain in going to war with each other… and anyway, at the rate I’m going, all I have would be his in the end (Hmmm if I die suddenly, you all know who is the prime suspect) ROTFLMAO

Ah well…as they say, birds of the same feather flock together! Hahahahahahaha!!!! I wonder who his beneficiary is… LOL!!!

  27. KNB’s record of sick leave as good as my govt servants friends here… Only 3 days whole year….but rest of the year..minum..main golf…pergi course (including Inter-C and Golf-C )…hantar budak sekolah …jumpa bos …tapau..pergi bank..cari orang kerja rumah…saudara mati… pergi hospital..bayar bill letrik dan air..SO WHAT’S THE DIF…hahahahahahahahahahahha.

LOL!!! I did not say that!!! Tak nak campur!!! But I think he’s not loke that lah! He’s so goodie-goodie one…not like….ummmm, never mind! Hahahahahaha!!!

  28. Hehe…I think this was the first in a long time since you stepped into a fast food restaurant. I think the last time was Pizza Hut when I was still in secondary after church

No lah…I went to Pizza Hut with you when I was in SP last year, remember?
