Which is your favourite Christmas song? There are a few that I like but this year, my favourite has got to be this one by Michael Buble (Words & music by David Forster and Linda Thompson). The lyrics go like this:
Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies
Well, I’m all grown-up now
Can you still help somehow?
I’m not a child, but my heart still can dream
So here’s my lifelong wish
My grown-up Christmas list
Not for myself, but for a world in need
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
Every man would have a friend
That right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown-up Christmas list
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth?
Maybe only in that blind belief can we ever find the truth
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
Every man would have a friend
That right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown-up Christmas list
This is my only lifelong wish
This is my grown-up Christmas list
Don’t you think that should be everyone’s Christmas wish in this world of ours so pathetically torn apart by hate, strife and wars? Do click the link and listen to it. I’m sure you’re gonna like it too… Joy to the world, love and peace to all men!
Nice song…
Dunno much Eng song.. most Christmas song are nice to me.. 😛
muimui: Not musically inclined, are you? I thought there’ll be so many radio stations there playing all kinds of songs, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Not like Sibu, we’re so deprived here.
Love this song a lot! The third after Little Drummer Boy and What Child is This.
Your two songs not on my list of X’mas faves. I like Happy X’mas (war is over) by John Lennon, Believe by Josh Groban, A child is born, Nat King Cole’s Christmas Song etc and surprisingly, Tom Jones’ version of Mary’s boy child is very nice!
My favourite is still Silent Night because that’s what’s usually missing in the rush to get things done . I think you might like this poem taken from Today’s Catholic.
I would very much prefer O Holy Night to Silent Night…and of course, it depends on the singer too.
why i feel like have tears in my eyes when I listening to this song..
btw selamat hari natal..to u.
That’s why I chose this version – has more feeling to it and touches the soul. There are many other versions but they fail to move me! Thanks…still 10 days to go!
1. Oh Holy Night- doesnt matter who sings even myself
2. An Old Christmas Card – Jim Revees
3. Blue Christmas – have to be Elvis
4. Please Daddy (dont get drunk this Christmas) – John
Denver
5. Silver bells – your version about children laughing!
And you asked for 1 only!!!
Eyew…I can’t stand Elvis’ Blue Christmas! Jim Reeves’ anytime!
i like the typical one. it really gives me a great scenario of christmas. merry christmas suituapui. hope its not too early? not to forget, where’s my present?
Thanks! U not celebrating X’mas…so no present! Hehehehehehe!!! Chinese New Year, can give you ang pao…but u have to come to Sibu to collect. LOL!!!
One of my favourite christmas song is John Lennon’s christmas song. The most funniest christmas carols I ever heard was on a tourbus long time ago in Sanya Island,China. It was christmas time n our lady tourguide was singing ‘silver bells’ & Jingle Bells, with the heaviest cina accent u could ever imagine n me & kids were laughing so loud & clapping away, she sang even louder,so happy that we enjoyed her singing. It goes like this..Silber bells, citi sitewok,.soon it will be krikmek tay…..jingeler pell..jingeler pell…LOL!!!
LOL!!!…”Jingerler bell” sounds like Indian version! If u search for Christmas parody on youtube, you may get all kinds of funny Christmas songs…but some 18SX, so don’t say I didn’t warn u! Hahahahahaha!!!
my favourite all time christmas song has got to be “The Christmas Song” and i dont even know who actually came up with that song since ive heard soo many covers by god knws how many singers…and earlier this evening…i got out of the mall chilled at this cafe and it started snowing…and guess what..THE MthrFckng song was being played…OMG i almost went to tears 😛
So, you also so emo… It’s toughest to be in a strange land alone at this time of the year. The slightest catalyst can trigger a flood! I like The Christmas Song too…about “nuts roasting in an open fire”! Hahahahahahaha!!!!
my favourite Xmas song is Marys boy child/Oh My lord – by Boney M– it has a joyful melody.
Omigawd! Boney M!!!…At least there Felice Navidad is bearable! Hahahahahaha!!!!
I like Silent Night, and ‘Where Are you Christmas?’:-P and also, Twelve Days of Xmas and Deck The Hall.
This Xmas, I wish for human rights in Malaysia, but I know I’m asking too much, so winning a jackpot will do just fine. Wahahahahaha… aiyo… thank God you never teach me before when i was in school, Cikgu, otherwise, you’ll go cuckoo… I’m afraid i’m not a good student. 😛
Not a good student? Ooo…I likey! Can punch and pinch, beat and abuse…… Enjoy!!! Hahahahahaha!!!
“Wee Wee Choo” sang by any China man will do for me. Now I know the difference between Chrisrmas vs Xmas liau…just been browsing through some of your links blog. Thank God I’m Christian and not Xtian…hahahahaha.
Same mah! X = Cross = Christ! But there is a difference between Merry and Blessed/Holy Christmas/X’mas.
..aiya. Christmas & Xtian la..Soly
Ok…edited liao! LOL!!
My all time fav Xmas song is O Holy Nite!
That’s my favourite Christmas carol (as opposed to the not-so-holy Christmas songs)…but it depends on the singer.
