Prior to that, we were driving around showing them the sights and at the Tua Pek Kong wharf, I spotted a makeshift stall selling buah pakon. They were very cheap – selling at 5 for only RM10.00! I bought some, took them along to the restaurant and got the workers to open one or two for us and told them that they could have the rest…

Of course, the girls had to try the only-in-Sarawak fried midin with belacan and fried cangkuk manis with egg plus the only-at-Ruby blended kopi-o-ais (otherwise known as Stp’s coffee) and butter scotch prawns (with giant freshwater udang galah)…
