Tears in Heaven…

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Someone dear to me has just passed away around 4.00 a.m. this morning. My heart goes out to the immediate family and all who share this same affection. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, may he rest in peace. Amen.

  1. Sorry that you are going to miss a loved one. Will whisper a little prayer for your loved one and those who loved him.

Thank so much, jenn. At times like this, prayers are much appreciated.

  2. amen…..i always tot the first line is : the lord is my Shepard, there is nothing i shall want

There are different variations. I am also more familiar with “…there is nothing I shall want…” Did you click the link? I could “feel” it…the way it was recited.

  3. My most heartfelt condolences to the family, 😦 May the Lord be their comfort and pillar of strength during this sad season.

Yes, but God’s Will be done.

  4. My condolences to the bereaved. May God grant the immediate family grace and mercy to walk through this dark time.

Thanks, and God be with you too.

  5. mum told me this once and at times like this they really make great sense.. Quote..Just be nice to me when I am alive cos after I die it matters no more..just give me a decent funeral..UNQUOTE. May his soul rest in peace ..there will definitely JOY IN HEAVEN.. See u in KCH wednesday?.. and rest assured will be in Sibu soon..

Very true! I’m glad I was able to visit him a few times when his condition started to take a turn for the worse. I will not be in Kuching as somebody else is going. Have to be around here to take care of things.

  6. sorry to hear that…

Tnx…but there’s consolation in the fact that he would not have to suffer any longer after his stroke some ten or more years ago, and may he find peace in Heaven.

  7. May his soul rest in peace. Amen…

    P.s. You’ll be in Kch?

Thanks, mar. No, I won’t be going as I can’t get away over here.

  8. sorry to hear abt this news.. he’s now at a better place.. hugz

Thanks, angeles. That’s the consoling thought at a time like this.

  9. this time macam all comments are very serious…

Owing to the nature of the post lah! Out of respect, only solemn posts till after the funeral on Wednesday morning.

  10. Sorry to for your loss. May god be with you and those who share the same grief in this time of sorrow.

    Thank you, cc…

  11. Life is to short and we must go on. Don’t worry, you will see him again someday as all those who are in Christ will one day be reunited. May his soul RIP!

    Amen to that. Thanks, Man-D!

  12. I cannot go over to Kuching due some commitments here.I cannot hold back my tears when I read his obituary. My tribute to Uncle P..he had this way about him if you knew him,he knew you and that was all mattered. He had his way of thinking about others and his careful choice of words when he gave advice. He will be missed. Losing him is not the hardest part-its is the days afterwards when he is no longer there to be part of of our lives. My heart goes out to the immediate family. May he rest in peace.

We were very close ever since I was a teenager. After he had his stroke, I heard of how he would cry when somebody visited him…but whenever I went, he would always laugh and was always happy. He liked to eat (I guess that runs in the family!) so I would try to bring stuff that he loved and enjoyed. I will miss all that…

  13. I was away n just got back n found out what happened to our dear Uncle P, someone that I have a great deal of respect for and whom i always thought of with love and affection. It is just not the same to know that he is not around anymore and it is always painful to lose someone that we all cherished so much. I am just loss for words at the moment n my heart goes out to his family n he will be very greatly missed by all but we know that he is in a better place now where there is no sufferings. I am just so sad that i did not manage to see him again one more time living so far away . May he rest in peace.

Amen. Well, that’s one thing people must accept when they move so far away…and if they do not keep in touch regularly (at least now there’s the internet and phonecalls are easy and affordable), the distance between them and the ones they love will not be merely physical.

  14. Really glad that I brought Sher to visit him before we left. Great man with a golden heart.

Yes, I’m glad to be able to see him a few times last two months. Pity that his last ten years or so had not exactly been great. He really deserved better.

  15. On behalf of my family, I would like to thank everyone for your words of comfort and prayers.

STP, you know that Dad always looked forward to your visits, and that whenever we mentioned that you were coming over to Kuching, he would ask many times when you were going to be here.I am glad you saw him very recently.

Funny how I wasn’t able to get away to see him for quite sometime and then, I had a few opportunities in a row…which I am glad to have had.
