These came all the way from the East Coast from Kuala Terengganu to Sibu in East Malaysia…
- a packet of made-in-Terengganu keropok sotong (squid crackers)…
…and these giant dried chilies – each of them almost 12 inches long…
I understand that despite the size, they are not hot at all. Oh me oh my! Now, who says that size does matter? LOL!!!
Other than these that came in this parcel via poslaju…
…there was also this little container labelled “lemon pepper”…
I understand that it actually came from quaypocooks and the sender has generously spared me a bit to try. I’ve been told to use it to marinate meat or fish for grilling. It certainly smells great and I bet it’s going to be very delicious. I think I’ll just wait till my daughter comes home…
By the way, can anybody guess who has so kindly sent me all this stuff? If you can give me the correct answer, I’ll post to you one giant chili. Muahahahahahaha!!!

How come you never tell me that you like those lemon pepper thingy? I could have got them for you here as they are a dollar a pack ( sometimes cheaper when ada discount ) and comes in a lot of other types too. Most importantly, lighter to lug than the spams…muahahaha!
I knew it! I knew it!…aloe vera! I was admiring the tempayans at your mom’s place and we even had a conversation about it. Baik untung I tak make an official guess…kesian you nanti kena post a carton of mee daddy all the way to Auckland..lol!…and the post will cost more than the mee daddy itself..lol!
LOL!!! I sent a box to Penang once and the postage was over RM30 – the box of instant noodles only around RM10. I wonder how much it will cost to send to Auckland.
I so very jakun – dunno lemon pepper or whatever ang-moh herbs…and will hardly ever use in my cooking (dunno how to use). But people give, I take lor…and when Melissa comes back, I’ll try it out and blog about it – tell you nice or not when the time comes.

True – we’ve got bottles of spices – rosemary, thyme, oregano…you name it, we have it and I haven’t the slightest idea how to use any of it. Missus hardly ever use them either in her cooking – dunno why she bought them. Maybe Melissa would use in her cooking, I wouldn’t know. If using belacan, cincaluk, udang kering…or kunyit, serai, lengkuas, cili…ahhhhh!!!! Those things, I know very well. LOL!!!

Hehehe.. I was looking at all the answers the other day and I thought aloe vera should be right. But i never seen the flower before. Usually use this plant for my cuts and bruises when I was young.

Mine too… I’m not familiar with these things – my cooking so very kampung one, very simple.
Interesting! I learned two new things today:
1. You can send wet food items through the mail
2. Aloe vera has flowers

The chillis looks great though – I bet it’ll taste awesome in kung pow dishes!
Not if they’re dripping wet…or frozen. I think perishables are not allowed – I’ve sent before…and I declared “food – non-perishable” and they did not say anything. I haven’t done anything with the chillis yet – still trying to figure out what I can do with chillies that are not spicy hot. LOL!!!
And yes…aloes do flower! We learn new things every day eh?
