…onto Facebook the other day. Omigawd!!! I looked so young then…
Gee! When did I grow to be so old? That was in 1999…when a group of teachers from Sarawak and Sabah got together in Kota Kinabalu to work on a project for English Language teachers in the two states under the guidance of a consultant from the UK, Ms. Diana Lubelska, from MARJONS (the University College of St Mark and St John, Plymouth).
I have always been considered fat most, if not all, of my life but compared to today, I thought I looked quite fit and trim then…
Sigh!!!
This is the group photo that we had taken then of all of us involved in the project. Now, can any of you spot me in it – the rose among the thorns?
Sadly, one is no longer with us anymore…and a few of us have already retired from service but God willing, may we all be blessed with a long and happy life…

Expensive? People this year already booking for next year’s Chinese New Year…or they do it as soon as there is any zero fare or special offers. Want to book around now, forget it! I heard Air Asia Kuching-Sibu over RM500 – dunno if that’s for return but even then that would be way too expensive. Airline not yours, have to trouble yourself to do it very very early…
Actually ah… with your size… I would freak if I was your student. I dunno what’s wrong wif me… but I was always afraid of big sized teachers…especially if they are math teachers. (SCARY!!!)

Ya, true… some teachers are like that…just so happen that most of my maths teachers are much bigger than me… so I takut them… =.= last time always kena rotan on my hand becoz I failed! LOL!
My students all scared of me… Those who stick around are those who were able to see the love within. If you ask around, sure there will be some who will curse and swear at me, say I was so fierce etc… Well, the feeling’s mutual – no love lost! Blerk!!!

Nope, the Sabah Education Department was so hospitable that they put us up in a hospital!
It seemed that this private hospital rented out one wing for seminars, courses and what not… Terrible place…and some of use had some scary experiences with things that went bump in the night.
Ya…one of us, not one of the older ones passed away. Died when washing the cement around her new house using a pressure pump… They said she had turned blue when they discovered it – probably a heart attack. Really sad, she was such a nice person/friend.
I’m sorry to hear about her, your friend… hey, creepy stories?!! That’s cool!
Well, God’s will be done on earth as in heaven… We’ll never know when our time will come – just be good, go good and pray always. It wasn’t creepy – just shocking especially considering the fact that she was younger than many of us.

This reminds me of my beloved granpa. (Eh…not saying you’re old ar)..just that he was a Maths/English teacher in penang…and he used to do all ~ teacher’s workshop/conference, meetings in various places around the country.

Oh? I wonder what’s his name. I may know him. I started in 1989 untilI retired in 2007 and I got to know many people, officers and teachers all over the country so there would be some from Penang as well.
no la..he retired before then. He was with Recsam as well…but this was in the 70s/early 80s..
Oh? I was in Recsam once for an English course there – should be the late 80s or early 90s. I guess he wasn’t around there by then…
