No sweat…

Yes, it’s so very easy to cook these dishes, that’s for sure!

The first one is what I would call the steamed chicken with pickled lettuce dish for which you will need these ingredients…

The minimum that you would need would be the ginger and the can of pickled lettuce…but I added some wolfberries as well to add to the sweetness and a bit of soy sauce.

I was cooking for two for one meal only, so I used 5 pieces of chicken and half the pickled lettuce in the can. I mixed them with some slices of ginger and the wolfberries. Then I took half of the “sauce” in the can and diluted it with an equal amount of water and added a teaspoon of soy sauce to make it look a shade darker…and more appealing, plus half a teaspoon of msg to enhance the taste.  Finally, I poured that over the ingredients in a bowl…

I also fried some bitter gourd for the veg dish that day. I fried some finely-chopped garlic (3 cloves) in a bit of oil till golden brown and then, I threw in some thinly-sliced lap cheong (Chinese sausage) – the last of the lot that Annie-Q gave me…and after frying that a bit, I added the bitter gourd – also very thinly-sliced. Finally, I poured in the egg – beaten with a pinch of salt and msg added…
