When I was in Kuching over a week ago, my cousin, Lindy, gave me these – Scottish all butter shortbread, Royal Edinburgh Brand…

She knew how much I loved them – well, who wouldn’t, after reading all my posts on them? Hehehehehe!!! Actually, she gave me another packet of shortbread fingers of the same brand as well, but I had eaten those all up before I remembered that I had not taken a photo of them.
This brand is definitely cheaper than Walkers’ and around the same price as Mcvities’ and is just as nice, or perhaps even nicer. Well, it claims to have had over 50 years of baking excellence…so one can definitely expect it to be good.
These are the petticoat tails…

…and at over RM8.00 a box, it certainly is a steal. You can never get anything from Walkers’ at that price. Just open the box and you can actually smell the rich buttery fragrance…and just one bite of it will send you to seventh heaven, believe you me!
And last Saturday, my ex-student, Xavier, dropped by my house. He’s such a nice boy and never fails to remember me wherever he goes. Before there was Secret Recipe in Sibu, when he was in Miri, he bought me a few slices of their cheesecake all the way from there to give to me. Well, he’s back from Shah Alam on a two-week break and this time around, he gave me these…

Truffles – nope, not those mushrooms that are worth their weight in gold, but chocolates made into a shape similar to that of the mushroom…

They’re very nice – cappuccino flavour…but a bit too sweet for me, so I can just take one at a time…sparingly. LOL!!!
Well, thanks so much, Lindy, for the shortbread…and Xavier for the chocolate truffles. They’re really very nice. Ummmm…..!!! LOL!!!

Comments on: "What I want…" (25)
argh! i want i want! haha wat la finish eat then realized not yet take picture of it! hahaha
That’s what we call “tham chiak” (greedy)! Couldn’t wait to eat… Hahahaha!!!
hahaha! yea! me too most of the time like dat! :p tham chiak is fu chow lang??
Nope – Hokkien. Foochow, it’s “than niak” or something like that.
lol! i tot hokkien n foochow not much different. i dunno how to differentiate between hokkien n foochow. xD Have to ask mum! haha
I don’t speak Foochow… It has an intonation that’s unique to the dialect – hard to master.
lol.. I thought I was the odd one.. staying in sibu for 20 years and I cannot even speak foochow.. lol..
That makes two of us… Hi-5! I guess you grew up in a Mandarin-speaking environment, so you would have picked up the language. Foochow is a dying dialect…and Hokkien is already almost as dead as a door nail – most young people cannot understand it at all, maybe a handful only in a class of 40 students.
LOL… these are heavenly. Goes well with a cuppa tea. LOL… But I bet you take em with coffee. LOL…
Yup! Kopi-o kau kau! Yummm…..! Hahahaha!
wow..i also want! looks like a good snack… yeah, eat sparingly, dont let it finish fast… lol…
That’s what I’m doing now. Just a segment of the petticoat tails a day…savour the flavour, enjoy it… Oooooo!!!! Hahahahaha!!!
Good morning Cikgu,,, i have never seen chocolates made in the form of musshrooms, this is the first time, again,, something new to see or to learn coming here ,hahahahahah
Chesh! Bet there are lots in Penang… Definitely available at Penang airport. You scared I’d ask you to buy me some and poslaju to me? Hahahahaha!!!!
The shortbread look so nice
Yumm yumm!
They’re VERY nice! Yum! Hahahahaha!!! Btw, have you tried the mini-shortbread fingers made by certain people in Kuching? Mini, as they’re only about an inch long. I’ve tried once or twice and they’re very nice too. Wonder if they are as expensive as the imported original Scottish ones…
Mmm, I love all the sweet stuff! Nice
You do? Haven’t seen you posting on anything sweet so far…
wah so lucky. so many students giving you food! haha…
Not many lah! Just a few…
Wondering how does the mushroom chocoloates taste..hehhe. They are just too lovely to be eaten..wink**
VERY nice…rich and creamy with the cappuccino taste. Slurpsss…. Sweet though, so have to control myself. One at a time…and must space out; mustn’t over-indulge! LOL!!!
Awww…..you are being ‘loved’. hahaha…..
Praise the Lord! At least, thankfully, there are few who appreciate what I did….
The chocolate looks very dry. Is there any nuts in it?
No!!! I don’t like chocolates with nuts. They just came out of the fridge, maybe that’s why the frosty look…and did not look as nice in the pic. Looks better in reality and taste even better! Yum!
eh best nya! Some ppl have all the love!
i oso tot mushroom at first leh… but then again, i love mushroom more than chocolate
I’m not really crazy about mushrooms nor chocs and ice cream…but I don’t mind indulging once in a while – after all, I shouldn’t be eating too much sweet stuff…but nice, rich, soft cakes are my weakness!
wah…you are really lucky lah! No matter where you went, food of one type or another will follow you! Even you stay still, food will also come to you! Well blessed!x2
Some old people told me when I was younger that the structure of my jaw (See Jay Leno, something like that! LOL!!!) is an indication that I will always have things to eat… Looks like it is quite true, don’t you think? Hahahahaha!!!!
Wah …. yum yum yums! Enjoy your goodies
You’re blessed with so many caring friends and family
Indeed I am…and I bet you are too! But actually, in your case, just one’s enough already – your mum…and all those to-die-for stuff that she cooks. Drool!!!
LOL! Running low on shortbread now,STP! Actually I never really took notice of shortbreads or butter cookies till u started blogging abt them so now everywhere I go if i see new brand i just have to sample them n u know how rich n buttery they can be!! So thanks again to u!
! Which makes me think lucky I don’t live in Sibu now or else everytime u posted yr Bandung kuihs, I will be there in a flash! Haha!
LOL!!! I get all the blame…as usual. No problem for me here – no good shortbread in the shops. Walkers too expensive, Arnotts doesn’t come anywhere near, Butterfingers not too bad…but below par, and not that cheap either. Only Mcvities…but only available while stocks last. Came across any really good ones there?
wahliow…look at the amount of sugar there…but it looks delicious…wish i can have a bite of it…hehehe
The shortbread? Too late…all gone! Hahahahaha!!!
OK I’m not greedy I just want ONE of the truffles pretty please????????
Come! Still some left! Come to Sibu. Saucer can have ONE too! Hahahaha!!!
Sure will go well with nescafe.
I take nescafe-o at home…too lazy to brew own coffee but in fact, I prefer freshly-brewed coffee.
oh my that truffles looks so yummmmmmmy… can i have some LOL
anyway, so glad to found your site suituapui… i can now thank you for visitn my blog… i am done placing your link in my blog roll so i can visit you here more often
Can! No problem…but you will have to fly all the way to Sibu – Sarawak, Malaysia…not Cebu in your country. LOL!!!
Huh? You’ve been here before… I have you in my blogroll. Most welcome to drop by anytime. Ya…usually when I comment, I do not link back to my blog unless I am forced to. Very lazy. LOL!!! So maybe people too lazy to try and drop by… Easier just to click the link, eh?
Hope this one wont end up in spam . Love choc especially those with alcohol in the middle
Unfortunately, it did end up in spam…again! LOL!!! Yup…Xavier gave me those the last time. I think I included a link in my post to that particular old one…
I love shortbread… but definitely not with sugar topping!:p
Wow… your ex-student really “pannai” har? This chocolate truffles look mouth “wateringly” delicious… you must give him a big bear hug!
have a nice day!
Ah! Another shortbread lover. Ummm…what’s “pannai”? Ya…the truffles are nice. Not many inside though – 10 or so only, must be very expensive.
biscuits! i remember always eating the butter cookies from some scottish brand! =)
Butter cookies? Those would be Danish. Scottish…shortbread… Sibu…kompia… Tambun…biscuits etc. To each his own! LOL!!!
any vacancy for teacher? i want to be a teacher as well. hehehe
look nice… but not matter how it look nice.. never try never know. mmm can i try it
Nice…very nice, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Why would you want to be teacher? Your job is so nice – takes you all around the world. I wonder what you do… Wouldn’t mind a job like that!
