We had dinner at Chinoz on the Park at KLCC – my missus and I with cousin, Christie and her hubby and children, Callen and Calley…her mother – my auntie by virtue of the fact that she’s my mum’s youngest sister…her sister, Liz and her son, Ben – all of whom had flown into KL to get away from the Chinese New Year hassle back home in Kuching…

…and this was the beer tower that they had over dinner…

I, of course, did not touch a drop for fear of a gout attack over the festive season. For our appetisers, we had these nachos…

…and tempura prawns…

…and meatballs…

My auntie had this duck dish…

…while my missus had their traditional fish and chips…

I opted for what they call the Oz meat pie with mashed potatoes and mushy peas…

…which was really very nice – the potatoes and peas, the pastry and the filling despite there being a few bits of meat that were a bit tough but nothing that my sole molar tooth could not handle.
For dessert, I had their tiramisu…

…which I regret to say was not as nice as Michaelangelo’s.
Callen and Calley had their hot fudge sundae…

Of course, there were a lot more dishes that the others had but I did not want to waste too much time snapping pictures…and would rather focus on enjoying the sumptuous food at hand.
All in all, it was a delightful dinner and get-together. Thanks, Christie, for the dinner…and it certainly was nice seeing you all again.

Quack quack here, quack quack there, quack quack everywhere~ POMMMMM!!!! Die liao! OMg, get shot!
Good grief! You’ve turned into Daffy Duck or what? LOL!!!
my friends did went duck hunting with their dogs n shotguns…. i hv neither of it so i shall go n make my own sumpit
Eeee…the thought of going hunting gives me the creeps – all those stories of people shooting one another when hunting for wild boar in the jungle here… Under the influence of evil spirits, they say.
Better to buy from the pasar… eyewwww… spare me the gory details of shooting and plucking duck feathers, please!
Ya…I wouldn’t want to do all that either…but I guess they can’t buy duck the same way as we do here – at the market! Poor thing!
Either that, or bloodlust. Yeeee…. scary lerr, go hunting. Farming is ok for me… but hunting is kinda scary ler, Cikgu.
It’s very dangerous…
Ya…it is! Got hantu…spirits of the forest!!! Always happens here – shooting one’s friend when hunting for wild boar!
wow…looks luxurious. you must have enjoyed the meal a lot.
was it expensive?
Dunno…but I bet it was. It was my cousin’s CNY treat…
LOL… yummy in his tummy… *grinZ* I think…even if the food is not that nice, Cikgu must have enjoyed the company alot.
Well, the food was very nice…and the company was great. It was indeed a delightful evening with my relatives. Had another one the following night…but that would be in the next post!
LOL! LOL! Backie back…!!! Waaaaaa…. so nice to be back and see the non vegan food! Akakakakaka! The pie was nice ah, Cikgu? Dono why, your pie looks better to me. LOL…
Aha! Welcome back!…Ya…theirs was just as nice…or maybe mine was a bit nicer! Hahahahahaha!!!!
LOL… thank you. The mashed potatoes on the pie really does looks tempting… but the green bits on it kinda repelled me. LOL… like an alien food… so your home made pie definitely looks better and more appetizing to me. You know… your chic pie and your shepherd’s pie… lol… *drool droll*!
The mushy peas actually tasted quite good. Must try making that next time I host a party… LOL!!!
LOOKs like a very expensive meal!! anything KL with that kind of deco must be pricey… your cousins are very generous… i never tried those before in KL. always going for chinese food only… eh, u mentioned michaelangelo… there is one branch in IPOH already… my son told me, we might go there tonight..
Well, for one thing, we do not get to meet very often as we’re all at different parts of the country. Is that a branch or another place with the same name? Looking forward to your post on it!
It’s Chinoz on the Park. You should try their hot chocolate. They used to serve Valrhona Hot Chocolate which was the best hot chocolate I had but not sure about it now since I have not been there for some time.
Thanks for pointing that out. No wonder I kept googling to see if there were any other blogposts on the place and came to naught! LOL!!! I’ve corrected it liao…and it seems that a lot of people have had posts on the place. Hot chocolate’s not for me! If I drink something like that, I would feel sleepy instantly. Conditioned already, I guess! LOL!!!
This Chinoz is a rather fancy restaurant…at least for me. That duck dish looks very interesting…
My auntie let me try a slice…and it was very nice, and what’s more? She did not want to eat the skin…and guess who had all of that? Hahahahahahaha!!!!
Chinoz, pass by few times but never step in before. Look at your food it look yummylicious. Especially the duck.
The food was very nice…but I would think it would be pricey. Maybe ok for special occasions…
Yup, Chinoz is a nice place to be. Hey, a lot of people get away from CNY nowadays. It was happening even when I was a kid but an increasing amount of people do that now and just go on vacation overseas. I love CNY so I won’t be doing that anytime soon.
Ya…I used to do that a lot myself. Guess you love the booze and the bangs! Oops…I mean the firecrackers and fireworks, so wipe that smug off your face! Hahahahahaha!!! Hang around – you’ll get to see a photo of you in one of the posts coming up soon! Let’s just keep you in suspense in the meantime! LOL!!!
miss having the fish and chips i had back in UK.. the portion is really large!
Personally I do not like those with batter – prefer the ones coated with breadcrumbs. A lot depends on the fish. Did you have the fish and chips with lots of vinegar? Eyew…I didn’t like that! Gets everything soggy!!!
Ah a refreshing twist to the typical Chinese dinners eh? The beer tower looks interesting! And your sole molar tooth! *LOL* So funny!
Ya…go ahead and laugh! Eating can be such a challenge for me these days! Hahahahaha!!! And my beer-drinking days are over! Sobs!!! I guess it’s nice once in a while to have something different for a change…
Sigh! Old already, what to do? When I was in school, I used the BIC ball point pen (yellow colour) until it became two or three inches long. What strong teeth I had then…and never mind what they say about plastic being toxic! I’m still alive…
Luckily I just filled up my stomach before coming to your blog
The tiramisu looks very nice though you mentioned it was not as nice as Michaelangelo’s
It certainly looked nicer…but paled in comparison as far as the taste was concerned.
Just had duck dish the other day.
My missus doesn’t eat duck so I seldom have duck unless I have roast duck outside. I prefer homecooked phak-lor duck with hardboiled eggs…but dunno how to cook. My missus can cook – very nice one but she doesn’t want to cook because she doesn’t eat! Sobs!!!
