No more! There was nothing left, nothing at all! Not one single thing, believe you me! When I went to the Bandong stall yesterday morning, the lady told me that everything had been literally selling like hot cakes. Normally, they would prepare around 30 packets of nasi lemak and yesterday morning, she said there was a huge order for 100 packets. By the way, it was RM1.50 a packet and not RM1.00 as I had mentioned in my earlier posts.
Then she asked me, “Are you STP?” LOL!!! She must have read my post on the place. So I probed, “Who told you about my blog?” Well, it turned out to be Kongkay‘s brother and sister-in-law. Hahahahaha!!! Talk about blogs being influential, eh? Well, she seemed to be of the opinion that my recent post had given them the much-needed publicity and that was why business had improved by leaps and bounds. She even asked for my residential address so she could deliver some of the ayam penyet Bandung to my house since I do not usually go out at night, but you know me lah! Nei-ah! Nei-ah! I just told her that I would drop by one of these days to try…
Well, sometime ago, I bought a few slices of bread pudding from the stall…

Oooo…I love bread pudding. Everytime they had that in the hotels for breakfast or for dessert, you can bet that I would have more than just one or two helpings. But these were a bit different. You do not get to see the slices of bread embedded in the milk custard and they do not give you any maple or whatever syrup to go with it. But as they say, looks can be deceiving! They were VERY nice! I could taste the bread and the richness of the milk in the custard and I think they used sweetened creamer, so it was sweet enough without the syrup and it certainly looked like they glazed it with caramel. The best part was it was RM1.20 a slice but she sold it to me at only RM1.00…and that was before she found out about my blog! It must have been my friendly and pleasant disposition! LOL!!!
I also bought their Penang laksa to try…

It was nice…but I can’t remember the price though. You’ll have to find out for yourself should you decide to go there yourself and try some of the things that they sell…

Comments on: "No more (2)…" (26)
walau-ããã!!! personal delivery some more…
shouldn’t i have a piece of the action too? profit-by-proxy!!!!
Too bad I turned down the offer…but when you come to Sibu again, maybe we can go over there and try the ayam penyet together? Hope the offer still stands by then…
This who is stp story makes my day…180 degree change of mood from the fire post. Just as good as the feel-good factor of the susan boyle saga.
Well, Sibu is a small town – you kentut one end, the other end can smell! Whatever you do, eventually everybody knows. No hiding, no running away… LOL!!!
No wonder so many bad ones chow to Kuching …..bad bad ones to ^&%$…really really bad to West hor. The one so far until Aust..don’t how to describe liaw
Eh…you missed out to KK!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!
Worth giving the Ayam Penyet a try! It’s rm6.50 a portion…comes with rice, a piece of tauhu, cabbage, sikat tau. Thanks for intro of stall! Now where to get a good authentic loh mee…like the good old days!
Welcome, Kongkay bro… Lor mee – I don’t like the gooey type…so I prefer the one at the kampua stall at Kin Coffee Hut (opposite Sacred Heart School next to the photostating shop – same block as Singapore Chicken Rice). The smell of the 5-spice powder is also not too strong.
Ain’t u a rolling stone,STP! From Ruby to Kampung lady!LOL! Rolling stone gathers no moss so at least we know that the food u buy is fresh n free of moss!
Ruby’s expensive – for special occasions, ok lah! That day, my friend and I had lunch there…butter scotch pork ribs, sweet and sour fish fillet, baby kailan with belacan plus rice and drink – RM28.00… These cheap places for everyday mam-mam! More affordable!
This is the result of publicising the stall. Now you can’t buy anymore nasi lemak because someone beat you to it! Haha…
Ah well…never mind! Consider that as a good deed to help others! Bless me! LOL!!!
Another child wonder: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article2395429.ece
No video on youtube yet…but these kids are like diamonds in the rough. Good voice, can sing – perfect pitching but something’s missing! Like some piano-players with a string of certs to show…but they play notes, not music. Must have that special something that comes from within…
So pity these kids lost their childhood just like that. Tsk tsk tsk!
But then again, oh well…
Sometimes I kinda pity a lot of youngsters nowadays. They seem to never heard or tried anything that we normally eat. We lim kopi-o at kopitiam for a buck, they lim kopi at Starbucks. Mana tidak lost childhood, kan? We eat normal thing that normal people eat (it’s abnormal according to them. Hahaha!!!) like kampua, kompia, kolo mee, bak pau, etc. They eat lousy overpriced food at fancily decorated places called cafe, all fully financed by FAMA (father and mother) LOL!!! So kesian, youngsters don’t know how to enjoy the simplicity of life.
Eh, lari pula my topic…
That was the theme of my discussion in my tuition class that day. Was doing “Monsoon History”… Very nostalgic poem! Kids these days all really so blur…about the things in days gone by!
bread pudding? I’m hungry now T_T
You are always hungry! It’s a wonder you’re not my size! Hahahahaha!!!
*LOL* Cos you always blog food pics ma.. then when I post food pics.. I got complains from so many ppl in MSN and facebook.. that’s not fair !!
Hahahahaha!!! Life is never fair! When I blog on other things, very few or no comments…but on food, lots of comments, and then they complain that I always blog on food! Can’t please everybody, so just please myself! LOL!!!
Again…femes eh….
Blush! Blush!….Cheap publicity aje!!! LOL!!!
I remember the bread pudding that we had at this elderly lady’s house in Canterbury. And it came with brandy butter. You should give it a try.
I dunno how to make!…But I’ve had it quite often during my CHOGM (cheap holiday on government’s money) days at the buffet meals in the better hotels. Loved it everytime!!!
wah sumbody fehmessss!! XD
easily recognizable hor! that’s the benefits of becoming STP
You’re on the way to becoming one too, are you? Hahahahaha!!!!
I know you wont ask but wait til i go Sibu and find out. We probably know the parents or grandparents if the are local Bandung/JFV people.
The one running the foodstall selling the kurma, hitam and all that is Madu’s husband. Sounds familiar but dunno who. This one is the sis-in-law of the owner of Kasturi – the halal restaurant in town. They’re closing down that place (rental too high) and opening the restaurant in the block of shophouses at the back, behind this one. The Kasturi guy is the one selling the ayam penyet at night…
Make sure Ruby’s boss read your post. Then he would know not to simply up the price of his food
Never mind! His daughter joining my class next year, so I can earn back some of the money spent at his restaurant! Hahahahaha!!!
Ruby’s boss said the anak surfed the website for him to see wan. The man doesn’t know how to. I hope the anak tell the dad that STP complained the food so expensive that’s why business dropped.
Should do like Sweet Family! Cheap and fast…profit less but more customers, so earn more! Everytime very crowded!!!
Yalor! If cannot target profit then target volume mah. Haiyo!
Sure can make a lot like that! Better than having the restaurant empty…with cockroaches running around…and slaughtering the few diners who happen to drop by!
HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA… STP turning into Sibu’s Moses Lim.. hahahahaha
Goodness me! Haven’t you notice the resemblance all this while? Hahahahaaha!!!
Resemblance yes… the fame… no…. not yet that is… muahahahaha
Haiz! I was expecting you to say that I’m not so fat…and better-looking! LOL!!!
Almost, TOC, almost…and not only for food
Now, now…for what else, I wonder!! Hahahahaha!!!!
Went to 3 Points for dinner just now. People mountain people sea. We ordered: 1) midin with red wine,
2) or-chien,
3) soft shell crab in Thai sauce,
4) black pepper ostrich, and
5) crispy roasted duck skin wrapped in crepes (the meat we asked them to cook with the sweet sauce).
Bill came up to almost RM110 (with drinks and 5 bowls of rice).
The waiter kept recommending tek tarn (bamboo clam) which were about 5 inches long with the diameter of maybe 3-4cm. And they cost RM20 EACH! Someone muttered under his breath in Hakka: “What d!ck cost RM20!” LOL!!!
1) Midin not cleaned properly. No red wine taste. Kept biting into ginger strips, I got annoyed and abandon the dish after that
My mom cooks the best midin in red wine!
2)Quite special. The egg-crust shaped like a huge bowl with separate fried or (the oyster) in the middle. Generous amount of or. Didn’t like the crust, too bland.
3)This was probably the best dish we ordered just now. The soft shell crab was fried to its crisp, covered with Thai sauce. Downside: we only got to eat one skinny crab each!
4)Don’t like it with black pepper. Not suitable. Maybe they used too much black pepper so the taste of the ostrich was gone. So it tasted just like any other meat in pepper sauce. Thumbs down.
5) The crepes were nice. But didn’t like the duck which we asked them to cook with duck sauce after they skinned it. Manyak gemuk itu itik.
Saw them BBQ a piglet behind the restaurant. Tempted to order but didn’t. There is a high probability that I might not come back to dine here again. Like you said, Heritage is better.
Next time wanna eat anywhere, must ask around at http://suituapui.wordpress.com first… Oops! I think somebody mentioned it on Facebook! See! U simply refuse to sign up…for whatever reason I dunno. Should be tech-savvy enough! Not like kpenyu!LOL!!!
People who sell food simply love food bloggers. Anyway, Cikgu, you made me remember my mummy’s laksa. Huhuhu… so long never eat liao la!
Not really! There’s one stall here…where the old lady will scold you if she sees you taking photographs! It seems that some reporter featured the place in the papers and the next day, the Inland Revenue people pounced on them… Grrrr!!! People work their fingers to the bone, go and catch the big fish – the datuk2, the tan sri2!!!!
Talk about influence, you made a very big difference in that lady’s life I must say!
And you know what, I suddenly feel like eating laksa
Good grief! Another one!…And I thought only pregnant women have cravings! Hahahahaha!!!!
Was hopping over to Kongkay’s blog just now n the topic today very funny about drinking beer!LOL! TOC do u drink a lot of beer? If u do,better go n read that blog!LOL!Just wondering bcos yr fb status for the day always indicates u r drinking something…..
LOL!!! TOC’s always drinking something!!! Hahahahaha!!! I’ll refrain from making a comment on that. Thank goodness KNB not online!
ur blog title is the same as the song by journey – after all these years.
hv u heard of it?
Only one I know with this title is by Elvis Presley from the movie “Blue Hawaii”. Just about shows how old I am! LOL!!! Journey, I know Open Arms, Faithfully, Waiting for a girl like you…
after all these years is relatively new.. came out last yr i think.. but to tune is kinda like oldies.. and its always played in liteFM.
I see…will try to look for it on youtube. No liteFm in Sibu unless we wanna watch a blank TV screen on Astro…
