Rantings, ravings & ramblings of a rollicking mind

Never again…

@#$%&*+#%!!!!…OK, having got that out of my system, let’s talk! LOL!!! Well, I certainly will not say that never again will I watch the show considering that one gets to see such frustrating results year in, year out…and that is what reality shows are all about. After all, aren’t these the same people who voted Chris Daughtry out? And Eliot Yamin? I heard sometime ago that they thought Clay Aiken would win but they chose Rubben Studdard instead…and I will never forget that last year, they booted out Melinda Doolittle – my favourite over all the years and threw their support behind one broken-down record with repeating grooves and a baby elephant! Gosh! The baby elephant is a full-grown one now, if you caught her in the live telecast of the show this morning. And now that she’s “famous”, I would think she would have a fashion consultant but she came out wearing something like a maternity dress and the material looked like something people use for curtains or the backdrop for the stage in some Chinese restaurants!

Well, David Archuleta was cooked, nothing’s gonna change that now. But actually, all this while, I felt David Cook was the better candidate for the title.  Each week, he never failed to impress – good vocals, good songs…though it was beginning to get a bit boring. The Cow liked his “Billie Jean” or “Hello” but I loved his rendition of “The first time ever (I saw your face)”.  It’s a simple song that would sound monotonous and boring if handled badly, but he did a very impressive job.  Too bad he only sang one verse! But last night, he did not even come close! The clip at the end showed the part where he went completely flat on U2′s “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for” (which incidentally is JFV’s most eligible bachelor, Kpg Nangka Boy’s theme song! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!).

I liked Archuleta when I heard him sing “Imagine” but it had been downhill all the way.  His “Sweet Caroline” was a mess…and how could he do that to Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Think of me”? His rendition of Chris Brown’s “With you” was below par…but last night, I thought he redeemed himself…and should have won if it was all based on the performances in the finale alone.

For one thing, Cook’s a rocker…someone in the mainstream pop genre that most young people (girls) will favour. Women probably found his rugged, scruffy looks irresistably sexy, THAT I won’t know!!! LOL!!! On the other hand, mums would love to cuddle Archuleta with his cute baby looks and his sweet smile…and the songs that he sang well are not the type that the younger lot would be crazy about…the kind people like Grandma Kruzer (of TraxxFm Pat and Mag in the afternoon’s fame! ROTFLMAO!!!!) love.  That probably explains the 56%-44% difference in the votes counted…

Well, it’s over and done. Feel free to disagree and post your comments! Air your personal opinions. Many of you couldn’t wait and have already dropped in to gloat about it in the previous post!!! Good! Good! Keep them rolling in!!! In the meantime, I’ll just have to wait another year to get all heated up all over again! Some people never learn, do they? Hahahahahahahaha…..

P.S. Those of you who missed the 2-hour live telecast this morning can catch it tonight at 6 p.m. on Star World (The repeat may be on right now, 1300-1500 Malaysian time, but I’m not too sure.) It was worth watching with Disco Queen Donna Summers (I love “Last Dance”), Bryan Adams, ZZ Top…and ooooo….One Republic doing a duet with Archuleta on “Apologise” and Gladys Knight and the Pips (Are those celebrity-actors playing the Pips?) doing my all-time fave, “Midnight Train to Georgia”…and don’t tell me you don’t love George Michael’s song – Didn’t catch the title but it’s something that would be ideal for singers like Archuleta! So if u haven’t watched it yet, don’t miss it!!!!

  1. yeah! i love archuleta.. hoping he could win.. ahha.. you can say i love him for his cute and sweet looks, for being 18 and sings way beyond his age.. and he seems like a nice guy. unlike cook.

i love cook’s voice.. that rough kind.. but his style is nothing new as we already have chris daughtry.. and i agree.. cook’s final performances were mediocre.. all i can make out of it was.. he trying too hard making his voice sound as rough as possible.. hahahaha

Hear! Hear! I always thought that Cook was a carbon copy of Daughtry…except that Daughtry looks clean…and better!!! Hahahahaha!!!!!

  2. .

t comment comment..excuse excuse excuse….correct correct correct.. maybe you’re not a good judge eh.. clear that OBAMA can never be President… American are Racist boss.. It was philipines then australian irish married women black and spanish surname..

Aduh! Were u drinking when u watched the show this morning? Pening lah ur comment!…Or do lawyers speak like that? To confuse the judge? Hahahahahahahaha!!!!! Btw, u mean they would rather vote for a woman who couldn’t even serve (and satisfy) her husband??? LOL!!!

    Excuse me, my theme song????!
I guess the results were not just based on the final performance. It’s an accumulated effect of their performances since the very first show wen we were all still confused which David was which.
Anyways, am glad Cook won, was my favourite all along. Wouldnt have been able to stand Achu’s “Ai Kau Ai Chio thanks for the applause but i’m so modest” look on his face had he won.

    He’s just a kid mah!!! So kesian….Hahahahahaha!!!!!

  4. I don’t actually follow but my girl does.Every time she goes” Ma.. you must see this” I take a peek. And it’s always when Archu is singing. Very confident he would win but then…I kesian him. He looked so teary as if he kena paksa to sing!

Which girl would that be? Not the elder one, I’m sure!!!! Ur little one likes the little boy lah!!! LOL!!!!

  5. I was a fan of archu when he sang Imagine…then its fast becoming monotonous week after week… he sang well but it is soooooo getting repetitive. As for Cook he really know how to spice up his performance. Week after week he tried something new. Thats why i was rooting for him.. Actually was rooting for that Australian bloke and that cute Filipina.

Talking about all this reality show.. I just watch it for the fun of it. Don’t really care who will win coz in the end they are already famous!. Chris Daughtry is one good example. He didnt win yet was so successful.

That Filipina??? Yucks!!! I liked Syaesha!!!!

  6. i watched the final… didnt follow the whole season, felt archeleta was better… like what simon said.. total knock out la.

Definitely! He was definitely better in the final…not a bit but a lot better!!! David Cook was a sorry sight! Too bad he’s got all the votes!!!!

all the voters terlalu ikut perasaan hor? i oso like Cook but last nite, Archu was the winner but……………. oh well…

As Daughtry sings, “It’s over….” LOL!!!!

  8. KNB you forgot to complete…”too bo lau jio”. Tot I was the only one who could not stand that look.

Tot that made him so adorable…want to cubit his pipi!!! Hahahahaha!!!!!

I prefer the rocker. Had hopes for Bo Bice and Daughtry last time. Georgie boy sang Freedom. Missed the finale show last night as I was away. Will catch it on 8TV tonight and also the results show.

The Idol finalists sang FAITH and FREEDOM before Georgie boy came out to sing PRAYING FOR TIME!!! He really sounded good and the song never seemed so nice! Don’t miss it! Good show…except the Elephant and I didn’t like Carrie Underwood either! Missed first half hour…so will see tonite. I also liked Crosby’s Teach ur children but he teamed up with eeeee…..Brooke White! LOL!!!!

P.S. Correction, it was Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young…and not Crosby who sang with Brooke…and the celebrity-actors with Gladys Knight were Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr.

  10. eeeeeee.. i never watched american idol before one….

I wonder if I ever will LOL

I guess u’re not so much into songs!!! I love music…and singing (even though I don’t sing well)…and listening to songs!

  11. Archu! Archu! Archu!

Tukang masak sucks big time in the finals! Americans are tone deaf!

Just look at what they listen to today!!! 90% of the current hits sucks!!! In one year, I can count the number of good songs on one hand!!!

  12. Big one lah

Oh? Tot she was into those angry rock chick kind of stuff. Grown out of it, I guess!!!

  13. cook has always been the winner all these while… its just that he didnt performed as well during the finale. i think its really unfair to say that cook wasnt a deserving winner just because of what happened in the finale. he has been impressive all these while. so whats the point of having previous rounds if the final outcome is based on the final performance itself. might as well just have it straight to the final.. no need waste time follow the show every week..
now one thing about archuleta is that ppl didnt know he was a winner for some singing talent show contest and by the way he acts, its as if as he is just a raw talent and an up and coming star with his aw shucks, “i cant believe i make it this far or oh God am i really that good?” pretentious kinda attitude.. this bugs me. I don’t think he’s as unaware of his talent as he portrays. .. he has been in this business for quite a while and he is just another product of pushy parents who desperately wants their little kid to make it far… read britney spears/lindsay lohan. dont get me wrong.. Damn it he can sing.. for a 17 yr old that is.. certianly americans are not stupid enogh to base the result on a 10 yr old girl’s vote..
so id have to say i disagree with you on this teacher.. im sorry if your boy didnt win.. but no worries, there are plenty of opportunities for him in the future.. maybe disney next ?? hehe..

I have to disagree with u too. Guess reality shows are not the same as there are many other factors involved but in most, if not all, other competitions, it’s how u do in the finals that matters. Football, for instance – who cares if you’ve been blazing thru all the way, if you don’t do well in the final, kaput lah u!!!

It’s all show biz, what! I know he won sumting before and people hated him for his overbearing father and all that stuff. Well, like I said, all the way, I thought Cook should win…but in the final, he was a bundle of nerves and didn’t do half as well and Archuleta whitewashed him! It was a knockout, no doubt! I bet the Cow wasn’t happy with the results…and he had to publicly retract his statement (Didn’t look happy throughout the result show! Bet he knew the results way before hand!)

  14. Aha always like rockers. Never watch AI or whatever but from what I see n hear David Cook is the sure winner. Just watch the last epi ha ha ha no comment …. I’m a rocker

U’re the Scorpion soundalike that I know or who? Welcome, welcome…and do drop by again!!!

  15. always a rocker. Never like 2 watch AI. However hear from me office staff that David Cook won …. not surprise …. I’m a rocker so rock on ……….. never sing song like “Imagine” … go 4 songs like “D Winner takes it All” ha ha ha

U mean u sing ABBA (Yucks!!!) or u’re just playing with the titles? Hahahahahaha!!!!! U’ve been rocking since the days of Bad Company, eh? Rock steady!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!

  16. I agree with what zouk said above!!!

Cook won it from the start to the finale…although during the finale maybe he didn’t perform as well…but it’s not just one night’s performance that counts maa…

Archuleta is good but he’s too young. He doesn’t have a “personality” in his music yet…so monotonous…no worries lah he x win,he can join the next high school musical…and I mean that in a good way.

I am happy with the results…I did touch a little on it on my newest post. A little lah. Not one whole post like you. LOL!!!

Well, what to expect from the self-proclaimed Mrs David Cook (and on national radio too)!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Aiya…at least I’ve got sumting to post about other than food mah!!! I’m not into football, otherwise I could have posted on the ManUre beat Chelsea thingy! LOL!!!

  17. Pandai² cakap I’m one of the shrieking females lah??? :P Where got oOo!!! I’m more composed than that bimbo beside Simon Cowell… hehe

And you know what? The last American Idol season that I watched before this year’s was the one with Fantasia! That was how many years ago? LOL .. but I’m glad I watched this season hehehe .. not just for David Cook but for Michael John, Carly Smithson and Syesha Mercado too ;)

The bimbo beside the Cow!!! Commented on TWO songs even though Cook only sang ONE!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!! In that round with the Top 3, I thought Archuleta should go. Cook did very well and so did Syaesha…but the judges didn’t like her and neither did the Yankees!!! So out she went!!!

  18. should i say archuleta was a little bit too late in redeeming himself.. cook already gathered a big big big group of fans behind him, so the finale just a mean to the end. that’s what the show is all about, from the start to the end, who is the most consistent of all. the result surely not based on the finale alone.

    daughtry is my idol!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cos he oso botak like u lah!!! Hahahahahahaha!!!!! He was good but didn’t even make it into the final rounds (and looks better than Cook too!) And he’s one reason why I didn’t like Cook that much! I thought he was a carbon copy of Daughtry and I prefer Daughtry! Ada gaya (especially with the botak head! LOL!!!)!!!

  19. Hahaha…Mag wasn’t supposed to “reveal” the identity lah. LOL!!! Nvmd,self-proclaim pun self-proclaim lah. ;)

The last time I watched A.I. was the Daughtry one. Knowing he deserved that win instead of Hicks, I merajuk, don’t want watch…so this season, I just watch only when I pass by the TV and idol is on. Don’t really follow the show. But even then,I knew both Davids were good. Oh,and Michael not bad too.

Hahahahahahaha!!!! Too late! The cat’s out of the bag!…I thought this year, they’re all quite good; they had their good days and bad days…unlike Melinda Doolittle who was good every day!

  20. [...] often turn out in the end. In the last two seasons of American Idol, I was really pissed off that David Archuleta and Adam Lambert did not [...]
